The usual problems and what to try, one at a time. Most of them take a minute.
The code did not arrive
- 1
Look in Promotions or Spam. The code comes from login@notify.improvteam.com.
- 2
Check the address under Sent to. If it is wrong, tap Change email and send a new code.
- 3
Wait a minute, then tap Resend code. You can ask for a code once a minute, and each code works for 10 minutes.
- 4
If the page says Too many codes have been sent to this address, wait an hour. If you have a passkey, tap Sign in with a passkey instead.
Times look wrong
- 1
Open Settings, then Theme, language and region, and check Time zone. Your home feed uses it. Open Language and region
- 2
An event page always shows the event in its own time zone. A show in another country reads in that country's time.
- 3
For 19:30 rather than 7:30 pm, set Clock to 24-hour (19:30) and tap Save.
A group you cannot see
- 1
Check which account you are in. A members-only group says You're signed in as and the address you used, which isn't on their list.
- 2
If you were invited by email, sign in with the address the invite went to. Invites work for 7 days, so ask for a new one if yours has run out.
- 3
Some teams are invite only and have no join button. Ask someone in the team for their invite link.
- 4
In a theatre or school, the community sees the group's front page and About. The rest is for staff.
Push notifications are not arriving
- 1
Open Settings, then Notifications. The phone or computer should be under Your devices. If it is not, tap Turn on notifications on that device. Open Notifications
- 2
Check the row for that kind of message says Push or Email and push. Email means no push.
- 3
If the page says notifications are blocked, allow them for ImprovTeam in your browser or phone settings, then try again.
- 4
On iPhone, push only works in the app opened from the home screen icon, not in a Safari tab.
An email link says it has expired or was used
- 1
Answer and money links work once and last 14 days, and an answer link ends with its event. That way nobody can answer for you from a forwarded email.
- 2
If the This link has expired page offers Email me a fresh link, tap it. The new link goes to the address the old one went to.
- 3
Or tap Log in instead and answer from the event page. That always works.
You were put on a waitlist
- 1
The session was full, so you are in the queue, shown as Waitlist #2 and so on.
- 2
When a place opens you get A spot's opened up. Tap Confirm my spot before the time it gives, or the place goes to the next person.
- 3
If the group has a no-show rule and you said yes but did not come, you may see Waitlist only until a date. You can still join the waitlist, and you are offered places nobody else wants in the last 24 hours.
- 4
If you can't make it after all, tap Leave the waitlist in the email, so the next person moves up.
A page says changes are paused
- 1
Sometimes we switch the site to read-only while we fix something. You can still read everything, and a banner or a Paused for now page says changes are paused.
- 2
Saving, signing up, answering and paying wait until it ends, which is usually minutes or hours and at most 48 hours. The page says when it will switch itself off.
- 3
Payment and mail notices from outside services are told to try again later, so they are not lost. Open the page again later and try once more.
The page looks out of date
- 1
If you see You're offline, you are looking at the copy saved on your device. The banner says what time it is from.
- 2
Your home feed, your groups' schedules and event pages you opened before work offline. Other pages need a connection.
- 3
Answers need a connection. When you are back online, reload the page, or close the app and open it again.
- 4
Even online, a page you visited in the last half hour can show its saved copy for a moment. It updates by itself when the new one arrives.
